(fragment tekstu)

The paper is aimed at the presentation of the latest trends as regards methods applied in demographic studies. The most important methodological innovations have been as follows: the analysis of the history of events and the non-linear demo- metric methods. Great progress has also been made in the construction of models featuring the formation and disintegration of human relationships and demographic models of family increase dynamics. As regards the methodology of demographic forecasting one of the more significant trend has been investigating the extent to which reliable prognoses and demographic projections can be made. In the paper the author gave examples of new probabilistic methods applied to the analysis of demographic processes. The author also presented a list of the most up-to-date literature in the field.
