Omówiono stosunek społeczeństwa do przemian politycznych, czynniki kształtowania się świadomości społecznej i instytucjonalną reprezentację interesów w społeczeństwie postsocjalistycznym.

The paper contains deliberations on the development of the interest representation system in the post-socialist society. At the empirical level they refer to Poland. On that basis and using the latest literature the author presents general statements adequate also for other East European societies. The main thesis is that under the conditions of socialism the representation of interests had a form of socialist corporatism, a system basically different from the state corporatism discussed in the literature, and from the societal corporatism. The departure from that system of interest representation will be possible when the basic social groups obtain a new self-identification. Simultaneously, a group or groups must arise that possess systemic identification affording possibilities for strategic, system-forming actions. In practice, however, no social force capable of such activities has arisen as yet. At the same time various social groups demonstrate a very limited ability to gain their new identification. Lost of them, mainly those connected with the state sector, maintain and, with time, reactivate the traditional corporatist identification, which becomes a strong barrier for system transformation.
