The point of departure is to precise the essence of the natural monopoly theory in the form of two theses. Againts this background I present the basical directions of criticism of this theory. In the first case the point is to question the existence of necessary connection between the position of exclusiveness on the market and the monopolistic effects. In the other case the very notion of natural monopoly is the goal of the criticism. The existence of prerequisites which are to decide about the objective character of the position of exclusiveness are questioned here. (original abstract)
