Key Factors in the Process of Leading Change in Organization

Celem artykułu jest próba określenia czynników, które mogą mieć kluczowe znaczenie dla efektywności wprowadzania zmian w organizacji. Podkreślono znaczenie odpowiedniego przygotowania kadry kierowniczej do wdrażania zmian.
The article discusses certain contemporary concepts connected with the process of leading change, which may be the critical factor in wide-scale transformations that take place in many Polish organizations. It is based on the concept of leading change presented by John P. Kotter. I also present the ideas of other author, which concern issues discussed in the article. The above-mentioned key factors are: establishing a sense of urgency, creating the guiding coalition, developing a vision, communicating the change vision, empowering employees, generating short-term wins, consolidating gains and producing more change, anchoring new approaches in the organizational culture. The main conclusion seems to be that efficient implementation of change processes, most of all, requires the strong and very intensive support of top management. The support of the company's managers should focus on developing leadership potential, providing appropriate knowledge, and establishing the new system of organizational values.(original abstract)
