The transformation of the economy commenced five years ago, which produced measurable economic and social results, has been slowed down. The claim that privatization conditions changes seems to be an oversimplification. The complex process of transformation is dependent on various factors of economic, social and political nature manifesting themselves in particular regions. In the article an attempt was made at analyzing processes pertaining to ownership transformation against the data available for the Kielce voivodship. A detailed analysis was carried out of ownership transformations for the 1 VIII 1 990-31 XII 1993 period. In that interval 67 state-owned enterprises were transformed. In terms of numbers the greatest was a group of 44 enterprises that were liquidated, 11 were transformed into single person Treasury companies and 12 were absorbed by the Treasury Land Reserve.(original abstract)
