Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na konieczność dostosowania narodowych norm prawnych do norm obowiązujących w Unii Europejskiej. Autor omawia rolę przepisów prawnych w powstawaniu dodatkowych kosztów w międzynarodowym obrocie gospodarczym, produkcji itp.

The process of adaptation of national norms pertaining to relations under civil law in international turnover performs a subservient function in relation to economic requirements. If one assumes that the state taking advantage of the instrument of tariffs and currency system deliberately controls international turnover then barriers resulting from the variety of functioning legal systems limit to a great extent the effectiveness of this activity as well as the resulting or expected economic gains. The total additional outlays made by business partners as a result of the differences in legal systems equal the total losses implied by those differences incurred by enterprises which are potential or actual participants of international turnover in a given state. Barriers coused by the diversification of legal systems greatly limit the performance of international trade. The consequence is an automatic reduction of budgetary revenues.(original abstract)
