Przedmiotem artykułu jest sytuacja na rynku pracy w Niemczech, gdzie bezrobocie w 1994 roku osiągnęło liczbę 4 mln osób. Autorka omówiła przyczyny bezrobocia strukturalnego w tym kraju, a także metody zwalczania go.

In the article the author presents, against the background of the general description of the German labour market the ways of confronting unemployment. The principal adopted measures are to favour, on the one hand, economic growth and, on the other, increase the efficiency of the functioning of the labour market. Economic growth itself will not be sufficient to eliminate unemployment. So the latter condition gains in importance. In the article author presents measures undertaken in this respect within the framework of the "Programme of Increasing Economic Growth and Employment", which is being implemented by the German Government.
