Abstrakty

Autor zwraca uwagę na szereg problemów i zadań strategicznych, przed jakimi stoją kraje Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej w dążeniu do uzyskania silnej pozycji w powstającym systemie stosunków regionalnych i globalnych. Problemy te to: przyspieszenie przemian ustrojowych i gospodarczych, połączenie się z Unią Europejską, budowa nowych struktur bezpieczeństwa i subregionalna współpraca gospodarcza między tymi krajami.

In the article the author presents the ties of the post-communist countries with the membercountries of the European Union against the background of the present economic and political situation in Europe. The ties are analyzed bearing in mind the strategic tasks that face the countries applying for membership in the economic and military structures of the European Union. The position of the post-communist countries in Europe undergoing unification will be determined by the following processes; increasing the pace of the transformation of the system which conditions economic growth and establishment of social and state democratic institutions, shortening the period of joining the European Communities, ensuring the proper place in the world security system, forming the adequate system of sub-regional economic ties.
