Evolution of the Structure of Incomes in Family Farming in Poland

Abstrakty
Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza poziomu i struktury dochodów w rolniczych gospodarstwach rodzinnych w latach 1980-1993.
The paper presents studies on the level and structure of incomes in family farms in the years 1980-1993. The analyses show that until 1990 the incomes of farmers as compared with those of the remaining population were sufficiently high and therefore did not provoke any changes in the agrarian structure. However, after 1990 the parity of incomes of the rural population declined but, due to unemployment and the possibility of financing consumption at the cost of reduced accumulation, improvement of the agrarian structure did not occur. Such a situation along with excessive investment of family farms poses the following threat: the period of liquidation of inefficient farms becomes longer. Whereas the conditions for strengthening of the potentially prosperous farms become worse.(original abstract)
