Przedstawiono charakterystykę instytucji zajmujących się restrukturyzacją gospodarki w województwie rzeszowskim, sieć powiązań między nimi, ocenę ich roli i podejmowanych działań, zwracając także uwagę na niezbyt wielkie wykorzystanie środków pomocy z funduszy PHARE-STRUDER.
The establishment of a comprehensive network of institution to monitor on a local scale processes of restructuring of Poland's economy has become an important issue. The province of Rzeszów is one of those regions where restructuring has proved an immensely complexi issue due to structural unemployment. The central government monitors the process of restructuring in the region via "Polish Agency for Regional Development" and a local office of the Ministry od Privatization (the activities of which are perceived to be positive within the whole province). One of the problems suffered by the region in question is constituted by a shortage of strong links between the various institutions of the subregions of Rzeszów and Mielec and another one in the controversies surrounding the creation of a special economic zone around Mielec. As of today the Province of Rzeszów can boast a fairly strong dynamics of activities but the dilemmas indicated in the paper may hamper the continuation of further processes of development.
