Autorzy przedstawili przesłanki pogłębiania się internacjonalizacji stosunków konkurencyjnych w gospodarce, czynniki kształtujące charakter i natężenie konkurencji, bariery konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstw postsocjalistycznych i metody budowania konkurencyjności w skali narodowej i w przedsiębiorstwie poprzez odpowiednią politykę gospodarczą.

Post-socialist enterprises and economies which participate in the intemational division of labour function under more and more fierce international competition. Specific premises ot the internationalisation result from the opening of post-socialist economies, liquidation of CMEA and attempts to intergrate with the European Union. At the same time there is a noticeable universal tendency towards a progressive globalisation of economic life, favoured by undertakings whose aim is to liberalise the international economic co-operation. Success on the competitive international market depends on the ability to create competitive advantage. The creation of competitive advantage can be referred both to an enterprise and to national economies. Certain competitive strategies are carried out at the enterprise level, whereas national competitive policies are led at the state level. There are numerous barriers to competitiveness in the post-socialist economies. The aim of competitive strategies of post-socialist enterprises is to overcome these barriers. This can be achieved by corrective programmes. Activities at the enterprise level should be accompanied by supportive measures at the state level which form the concept of a national competitive policy.(original abstract)
