Abstrakty

Celem pracy jest analiza zmian w poziomie i strukturze bilansu handlowego, a w szczególności deficytu w handlu zagranicznym Stanów Zjednoczonych w latach 1981-1990, a także czynników wewnętrznych, jak i zewnętrznych determinujących te zmiany. Ponadto zwrócono uwagę na ocenę poziomu i konkurencyjności gospodarki amerykańskiej na rynku światowym, a także ich wpływ na kształtowanie deficytu handlowego.

The main objective of the paper is a complex analysis of long-term changes in the level and structure of the trade balance and, especially, the USA deficit in the years 1988-1990, and the determinants of those changes, including both the internal and external factors. Special attention is drawn to the assessment of the level and competitive power of the American economy on the world market and their effects on the foreign trade deficit. (original abstract)
