Abstrakty
Przedstawiono warunki jakim musi odpowiadać polska gospodarka przed integracją z Unią Europejską, a także niewątpliwe korzyści jakie możemy odnieść (pomoc finansowa, inwestycje bezpośrednie, wzrost eksportu itp.) oraz zagrożenia zwłaszcza dla rolnictwa.
The progressive political and economic changes in Poland necessitated closer interrelations between Poland and the European Communities. The agreement on trade and commercial and economic cooperation, signed in 1989, made institutional and legal frames for the bilateral business relations. On December 16,1991 a treaty was signed associating Poland with the European Communities. The parties to the treaty agree that the objective of Poland is to become a full member of the Communities, and the association is to help attain that goal. Thus, the association is a transition stage on the way to full integration. The paper is an attempt to evaluate the chances and risks arising from the integration of Poland with the European Communities. A number of possible economic, social, political, and psychological effects of the admission of Poland to the European Communities are taken into consideration. The need for constant balancing of profits and costs being the effects of the integration is shown. Such a balance would be the main guide-line for formulating the adjustment strategy and negotiating the terms of membership. (original abstract)
