Abstrakty

Przedmiotem artykułu jest przedstawienie celów i metodyki nauczania przedmiotu "sofware użytkowy w rachunkowości" w AE w Krakowie.

The paper deals with the teaching objectives of the subject of software utility in accounting issuing from the expected need of prospective graduates of university level economic schools under the conditions of a market economy. The author points out the need to obtain economic data generated by IT technology from data bases resident in accounting computer systems. The author defines problems and provides their classification in the context of tasks which are solved while managing a business. He also defines issues inherent in the process of problem solving. The author further determines the contents of case studies, their characteristics and then in an attempt to measure their effectiveness against other teaching methods he tries to establish the aims which they help to accomplish. Additionally the author points out the advantages that such case studies offer the students. They include the following: the use of internalized knowledge, searching for solutions optimum for a business, obtaining economic data, decision taking against incomplete information.
