Tworzenie w przedsiębiorstwie transportowym zaawansowanych systemów informacyjnych opartych na nowoczesnych osiągnięciach techniki i wdrażanie różnego rodzaju systemów doradczych określa w dużym stopniu jego przewagę konkurencyjną. Omówiono systemy informacyjne w przedsiębiorstwach transportowych, środki techniczne realizacji tych systemów oraz komputerowe wspomaganie decyzji w zarządzaniu transportem.
The article presents strategic significance of information and its use in transport companies. The author considers the systems of information proconditioning proper circulation, gathering, storing and processing information in an enterprise. He also regards informatisation of information systems as indispensable for the use of information in competitive struggle. The main technological means for the realisation of information systems for transport have also been mentioned. Through their informatised systems of information, transport companies can integrate with the remaining links of the delivery chain in order to render logistic services. Therefore a logistic system of information is created. Moreover, informatisation of the information system is presented as a basis to implement decision-assisting systems. These systems are another possibility for the strategic use of information. The article also mentions the main applications of computer assisted decisions in transport companies. The author shows how transport companies can realise their main market strategies thanks to the possibilities of using information in the informatised information systems.(original abstract)
