Przedmiotem opracowania są możliwości i postulaty przewozowe zmodernizowanej magistrali tranzytowej C-E 20 Kunowice-Terespol. Przedstawiono warunki techniczno-eksploatacyjne linii oraz możliwości ekspedycyjne przejść granicznych. Postulaty przewozowe odnoszą się do przedmiotu, drogi i czasu przewozu oraz taniości i kompleksowości usługi transportowej. Wyższy poziom realizacji postulatów przewozowych usługobiorców na omawianej magistrali stwarza lepsze przesłanki rozwoju różnych form transportu intermodalnego.
In Central Europe latitudinal distribution of the main railway transit lines is formed by 3 normal track lines and 2 wide track lines. These lines are situated both in Poland and outside its area linking the Baltic ports of Germany and Lithuania and on land Germany with the Ukraine throught the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The transit lines in Poland can only develop and be competitive if all the requirements and expectations of transport customers are met. Chances in this respect will be considerably bigger when modernization of the C-E 20 railway line on its Polish section KUNOWICE-TERESPOL is completed which is expected to occur in several years time. Higher technical-exploitation transport capacities of this line can also facilitate the development of various forms of combined transport in the direction West-East and East-West.(original abstract)
