Abstrakty

Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie aktualnych kierunków aktywności Unii Europejskiej w sferze kultury oraz zastanowienie się, co z tego wynika dla Polski jako państwa stowarzyszonego. Kultura nie jest dla Unii sferą priorytetową. Obszary kultury wyraźnie preferowane przez UE to dziedzictwo architektoniczne, książka i czytelnictwo oraz sektor audiowizualny. Relatywnie małe wsparcie kierowane jest na edukację kulturalną. Autor wskazał na rosnące nasycenie kultury techniką i ekspansję sektora audiowizualnego. Potrzebny jest program popularyzacji wiedzy i informacji o UE w Polsce. Ważnej rangi nabiera także sprawa promocji kultury polskiej na obszarze Unii Europejskiej. Istotne jest zbadanie uwarunkowań wewnętrznych i zewnętrznych oraz odpowiedź na pytanie, czy stać Polskę na skuteczną promocję twórczości i twórców kultury.

The article aims at presenting current trends in the European Union's activities in the field of culture and what is in there for Poland as an associated country. Culture is not a priority for the Union. The areas of culture especially favored by the EU are: architectural heritage, books and book reading as well as audiovisual sector. Relatively small amount of support is directed towards cultural education. The author has indicated the increasing saturation of culture by technology and the expansion of audiovisual sector. What is needed most it is an information program popularizing the knowledge about the EU in Poland. It is also important to promote Polish culture in the EU. It seems essential to investigate the external as well as internal conditions and address the question whether Poland can afford a successful promotion of both the and culture creators and their creative works.(JW)
