Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: czy i w jakim stopniu stosowanie likwidacyjnej metody przekształcania własności państwowej wpłynie na powstanie struktury własnościowej, w której będą dominować firmy prywatne.

The liquidation method is not uniform. This common name includes two completely different techniques with different legal bases, indications of use and final results. The legal base of one of these - procedures is the Act on Privatization of State-Owned Enterprises dated July 13th, 1990. Liquidation of an enterprise according to this act is applied in firms of good economic condition, and may have the purpose to: sell the enterprise or its part, contribute the enterprise or a part of it to a partnership, give for payable use, that is in tenancy or leasing. The second liquidation procedure is based on the Act on State-Owned Enterprises dated 1981, and should be applied in enterprises with weak financial position, i.e. bancrupting firms. In practice the discussed procedure of liquidation turns out to be a long and inefficient one, and by the end of 1991 it was finished only in 10% of liquidated enterprises. (original abstract)
