Objęcie regulacją prawną pośrednictwa ubezpieczeniowego oraz innych podmiotów i osób związanych z rynkiem ubezpieczeniowym stworzyło podstawy do prawidłowego funkcjonowania sfery infrastruktury rynku ubezpieczeniowego. W tym zakresie można wyodrębnić dwa rodzaje działalności osób fizycznych związanych ze sferami infrastruktury rynku ubezpieczeń: pośrednictwo ubezpieczeniowe (jako podstawowa forma działalności gospodarczej osób fizycznych) i inne różnorodne formy działalności (rzeczoznawcy, aktuariusze, dyspaszerzy).
Economic activity of individuals on the insurance market concerns exclusively its infrastructural sphere. According to the Polish legal system insurance activities can only be carried out by insurance and reinsurance companies. The paper first characterises the Polish insurance market with particular reference to the place and the role of infrastructural institutions on this market. Then the author analyses legal regulations of the two main forms of individual economic activity on the insurance market. The first form refers to insurance brokerage (insurance and reinsurance agents and brokers) related to the sphere of insurance products distribution. The second form refers to the remaining individuals involved in other fields of providing insurance services by an insurance company (insurance actuaries, dispatchers and experts, average commissioners). The range of services provided by individuals, most frequently of high professional qualifications, on the Polish insurance market is constantly growing and their legal regulation is being improved.(original abstract)
