W artykule omówiono współzależności występujące pomiędzy polityką pieniężną banku centralnego a różnymi rodzajami kursów walutowych (kursu sztywnego, stałego, płynnego i płynnego kierowanego).

An exchange rate is one of the most important standards which designate the degree of freedom in the monetary policy conducted by the Government. Different exchange rates impose different procedures on the Central bank and monetary policy and indirectly, on all economic policy. The exchange rates in the world act as: floating, pegged rate and indirect model. The connections between monetary policy and exchange rate are examined in different exchange rate systems: monetary policy and adjustable peg, monetary policy and pegged rate, monetary policy and floating, monetary policy and crawling peg, monetary policy and managed float. Exchange rate policy in Poland - (2.01.1990-14.10.1991) rested on pegged rate, till 17.05.1991 it was pegged rate to the US dollar, then it was based on the basket of currencies, 14.10.1991 - crawling peg, 16.05.1995 - managed float to the US dollar. The effect of the introduction of this exchange rate system is the appreciation of nominal exchange rate of the currencies making up the basket. (original abstract)
