Monetary Policy in Poland in the Years 1990-1995

Abstrakty
Autor przeanalizował politykę pieniężną NBP w okresie 1990-1995. Przedstawił argumenty przemawiające za restrykcyjną polityką pieniężną w początkowym okresie przekształceń systemowych w polskiej gospodarce polemizując jednak ze wskaźnikami tej restryktywności, szczególnie w zakresie podaży pieniądza. Omówił zmiany w polityce pieniężnej w 1992 i następnych latach i ich skutki dla podmiotów gospodarczych, a także zaproponował konkretne posunięcia dla poprawy rentowności firm.
The author focuses on the identification of the monetary barriers occuring in Poland in the first half of the 90s. Among them are: the periodically occuring insufficient money supply in the market, the lack of an active crediting policy on the part of commercial banks, the rigid policy of the central bank with respect to the implementation of the pegged to inflation exchange rate and its delayed implementation. The author also points out that changes in the monetary policy have not significantly affected the structure of the taken up credit although there has been an increase in the volume of credit given to businesses. There also presented opinions expressed by the consulted enterprises concerning measures which should be taken to actively adjust the pertinent volumes. (original abstract)
