Transnational Corporations and Countries of the Third World

Abstrakty
Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza wpływu obecności korporacji transnarodowych na gospodarkę najsłabiej rozwiniętych krajów Trzeciego Świata oraz stosunku tych państw do dokonywanych w nich inwestycji. Autorka wyjaśniła istotę pojęcia korporacja transnarodowa, przeanalizowała działalność korporacji oraz skutki ich obecności dla krajów Trzeciego Świata.
During last decades we can observe a growing expansion of multinational enterprises in countries of the Third World. This article presents the main aspects of the presence of transnational corporations in the economy of the least developed countries. It starts with the explanations of the idea of transnational corporation and the attempt to estimate the extent of activities of foreign firms in Idcs countries. Then, it examins the impact, which foreign private investment may bring: on one hand there are many benefits which result from the transfer of resources, but on the other hand, some negative effects are associated with foreign investment. Finally, it considers how and to what extent Idcs can cope with the difficulties, which are connected with the functioning of transnational corporations in their economy. (original abstract)
