Capital Market is a new element of Polish economy of 1990s. There are many institutions, including the Warsaw Stock Exchange, whose history is very short indeed. We learn this market and often adopt assessment techniques and analyses characteristics of highly developed markets. Financial innovations, and derivatives in particular, are the new elements of capital market we now face. Hence, we should analyse new investment opportunities and suggest investment strategies that are new on the Polish market. The aim of the article is to present financial innovations together with strategies to be used on the relevant market. The authors are of the opinion that the Polish capital market will soon witness a dynamic growth of this form of investment. (original abstract)
