Alternative to Insurance Methods of Risk Transfer

Abstrakty
Autor omówił cechy charakterystyczne ubezpieczeń gospodarczych i zaprezentował tzw. alternatywne do ubezpieczeń gospodarczych metody finansowania ryzyka (ART): finansowanie typu captive, finansowanie typu asekuracja ograniczonego ryzyka oraz finansowanie przez rynki kapitałowe - derywaty ubezpieczeniowe oraz sekurytyzacja ryzyka ubezpieczeniowego. Podjął także próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, które z tych metod należy uznać za odmienne w stosunku do ubezpieczeń gospodarczych, a które są wyłącznie innowacjami ubezpieczeniowymi.
The purpose of this paper is not only to present the alternative risk financing methods, but also to answer the question, which ones of them should be treated as an alternative towards insurance and which as an insurance innovation. To complete the purpose, there will be created a detail characteristics of insurance (based on existing definitions). It will make possible to create a precise pattern of what insurance really is. Then, the detailed characteristics of ART methods will be compered with the insurance pattern mentioned above - this will enable the author to answer the question stated above. In the conclusion of the paper it is stated, that ART methods is a non - homogeneous group. It is also decided which ones of them should be treated as a modification of insurance and which as a real alternative towards insurance. (short original abstract)
