Abstrakty
W polskim systemie bankowym tylko jedna i zarazem największa grupa bankowa powstała na podstawie ustawy konsolidacyjnej. Autor dokonał oceny zawiązania się tego holdingu pod nazwą Grupa PeKaO SA pod kątem korzyści jakie przyniesie konsolidaja tych banków. W konkluzji zwrócił uwagę, że konsolidację należy przeprowadzać w drodze negocjacji poszczególnych banków, a nie na podstawie odgórnych decyzji administracyjnych.
Polish banking system has undergone almost revolutionary changes for the past few years. Still Polish banks, even the ones having the big prime capital, do not seem to be capitalized enough in comparison to foreign banks. Bank Handlowy, the bigges Polish bank, only has 658,5 mln dollars of prime capital while Deutsche Bank, which is tenth in the world, owns the prime capital worth 18 077 mln dollars. Thus the idea of creating bank holdings appeared. First such an organism was brought into existence in September 1996. They joined Bank Depozytowo-Kredytowy SA, Pomorski Bank Kredytowy SA, Powszechny Bank Gospodarczy SA and Bank PeKaO SA as a leader of the group. All the members of this holding expect they will strengthen their position on the market by offering bigger and bigger spectrum of services at lower costs. Reduction of the costs will be possible thanks to the reduction of standing expences which are connected with the functioning of the group. Enlargemenent of the prime capital will enable the banks to enlarge freely the amount of allowed credit so to finance big undertakings without creating a costly capital consortium. In this way PeKaO SA Group will be more comperative for other Polish banks as well as foreign ones, which will be able to act freely on our market since 1999. (original abstract)
