Abstrakty

Artykuł ma na celu analizę oszczędności zagranicznych w finansowaniu rozwoju Korei Południowej i Tajwanu. Autor scharakteryzował rozwój gospodarczy tych krajów, omówił wskaźniki wzrostu gospodarczego i przedstawił wykorzystanie zagranicznych środków finansowania rozwoju: pomoc gospodarczą, zagraniczny kapitał pożyczkowy i zagraniczne inwestycje bezpośrednie.

Quick advance in the economic growth of South Korea and Taiwan required increase of investment costs. Internal savings were the main source of new investments' financing, however, there were periods of time when the countries were using foreign savings as well. The objective of the paper was to analyse the way in whitch South Korea and Taiwan had used the external sources of financing such as foreign credits, ecomomic aid foreign direct investments. The paper also compares the size and cost of servicing the foreign indebtedness, as well as pays attention to the fact that the countries have succeeded not only in avoiding an indebtedness trap but also have accumulated considerable amounts of foreign reserves during the recent years.
