Tourists' Perception of a Region - on the Example of the Sudeten Rregion

Scharakteryzowano istotę pojęć percepcja, wizerunek i tożsamość regionu. Omówiono badanie percepcji turystów, czyli postrzeganie regionu przez turystów oraz jego znaczenia.
The paper presents a suggestion of the methodology of deep analysis of tourist offer perception on the basis of the results of a survey conducted within a defined Sudeten region (with consideration of their importance). The successive stages of perception study are shown in illustrations 1 & 2. The study involved the use of a questionnaire that included a specific set of 18 qualities (III. 1). In order to obtain a full picture of tourists' perception it is necessary to conduct a comparative study of the given region and the regions considered competitive. The study should include 11 qualities which are regarded as important for tourists. An example of tourists' perception is shown in illustration 2. (original abstract)
