Autor wskazuje na zmianę podejścia do koncepcji celów przedsiębiorstwa. Celem strategicznym staje się wartość firmy dla akcjonariuszy. Podkreślono, że pociąga to za sobą zmiany w filozofii i metodach zarządzania całą organizacją.

The paper is aimed at the presentation of a new approach to the concept of the objectives of contemporary enterprises and the impact of this change on the enterprise management process. This approach, resolving itself into the acknowledgement of the enterprise's value for shareholders as the major objective of the board of directors means that what matters at present is not so much the achieved profit but rather the so called free cash flow generated by the enterprise. The first part of the paper presents the philosophy and main premises urging the big enterprises' management to implement the management systems through the shareholder value. Subsequently described is the whole process of management through creating the values, whereas the final part of the paper lists those benefits for the enterprise and for the shareholders which result from the presented management techniques.(original abstract)
