Multimodal Transport in the Service of Hungarian Transit Through Polish Ports

Abstrakty
W artykule omówiono zagadnienia dotyczące stanu i perspektyw ładunków węgierskiego handlu zagranicznego w polskich portach morskich, lądowo - morskie szlaki transportowe w obsłudze węgierskiego handlu zagranicznego jako konkurencyjność dróg tranzytowych przez porty obce oraz warunki aktywizacji tranzytu węgierskiego przez porty polskie, w tym przewozów multimodalnych.
An increase of Hugarian transit through Polish seaports should be one of the basic elements in the development of cooperation between Poland and Hungary in multimodal transport, especially at the level of transport and forwarding companies. During the last years, among others due to the transformation and market orientation of Hungarian and polish economy, traffic of Hungarian foreign trade cargo through polish ports has significantly decreased. At present, when close cooperation in multimodal transport is being started, appear chances to increase this traffic. The structure of Hungarian foreign trade suggests that the route through Polish ports may once again become attractive to Hungarian cargo in the trade with United Kongdom, Ireland, Scandinavian countries and even USA. Polish ports, especially the "containerized" Gdynia, offer favourable conditions of service of Hungarian cargo, which are competitive when compared with foreign ports. However, the basic condition to increase the throughput of Hungarian cargo in Polish between Hungary and Poland, including into that cooperation Slovakia, since it is situated between our countries.
