Abstrakty

W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono wpływ burzliwych zmian w gospodarce światowej na konieczność tworzenia nowoczesnych organizacji. Omówiono dylematy współczesnej teorii i praktyki organizacji. Drugą część artykułu poświęcono nowoczesnym rozwiązaniom strukturalnym, takim jak: struktura macierzowa, struktura projektowa (zadaniowa), struktury sieciowe (wirtualne). W podsumowaniu wymieniono błędy najczęściej popełniane przez firmy przy projektowaniu własnych struktur organizacyjnych.

Modern organisations are defined as the ones that have been appearing currently, at the beginning of post-industrial era. Managerial staff faces numerous problems in managing them, as it has to confront new problems and meet discrepancies between persistence and flexibility, mass opposing individual, modern technology confronting power of traditional solutions, quality of goods going together with those goods low price. That results in a need of amending modern organisations, adjusting them to turbulent and erratic environment. Many interesting phenomenon regarding organisations management are currently appearing: globalisation, diversification, providing internal services, outscoring, virtual reality. The phenomena create needs of modern organisations structures which enable to meet the requirements of modern world. The following structures are usually classified as modern ones: matrix structure facilitating efficient use of its own permanent staff organised in the so called "profit centres", groups following a particular product, to large extent independent, although doubly subordinated; project structure, with temporary task groups consisting of not necessarily permanently emloyed staff, a considerably flexible organisation easily adaptable to the market needs; virtual structure employing the world information net, meeting clients' orders without a need to create a traditionally structured organisation, i.e. the one that employs its staff, hence its promptness in action of global dimension, providing new type of services and creating new possibilities; however a question appears: do such organisations exist at all?(original abstract)
