Abstrakty

Omówiono zagadnienie konkurencyjności polskich przedsiębiorstw w aspekcie integracji z Unią Europejską. Podkreślono, że przedsiębiorstwa powinny być wspomagane przez politykę państwa oraz politykę władz regionalnych i lokalnych. Tworzone przez nie regionalne systemy innowacyjności z szerokim zapleczem instytucji wspierania biznesu mogą wpływać na dynamiczny rozwój przedsiębiorstw i całego regionu. Rozwojowi takiemu sprzyja również nowoczesny system kształcenia menedżerów. Na koniec zwrócono uwagę na rolę efektywnego nadzoru właścicielskiego w podnoszeniu konkurencyjności.

Joining the European Union sets new, difficult challenges for Polish enterprises. They have to adjust not only to market economy requirements but also to conditions in EU. Soon, they will be under the influence of global competition. Moreover, European competition law will be applied and it limits monopolistic practice and governmental help for an enterprise. Henceforth, Polish enterprises have to strengthen their competitiveness as to enable Polish products to take a good position on the European market. The improvement in competitiveness could not be shouldered only by companies themselves, although their significance should be emphasised. They should be supported by governmental, local and regional policy. The most important are regional and local authorities stimulating enterprises to be innovative. Created by them, regional system of innovations, together with a wide range of supporting institutions could result in dynamic development of firms and the whole region. The growth is also stimulated by a modern system of education for managers. What is more, also the effective owners' supervision leads to strong competitiveness.(original abstract)
