Artykuł poświęcono problematyce analiz wielocechowych zróżnicowania gatunku ludzkiego. Omówiono metodę diagraficzną Czekanowskiego i metodę Klett-Overall. Są to zdaniem autorów najbardziej użyteczne metody statystyczne wykorzystywane w antropologii historycznej.

Presented paper contains the description of some methods belonging to the multidimensional statistics and used in analyses of dynamics of human populations in time and space. First of all, the phaenomena of microevolution and the designation of direction and strength of migrations are taken into account. One of traditional tools for such purposes is diagraphical method proposed by Polish anthropologist Jan Czekanowski at the beginning of our century. In present times, also every effective statistical procedure implemented in computer programs is put into practice. For example, the methods of factor analysis can be mentioned. In opinion of authors of the present paper, interesting results can be obtained with use of nonhierachic methods of cluster analysis, e.g. with the algorithm published in 70-ties by Klett and Overall. This tool can be applied also in other areas of research, when an analysis of mass material is needed and the ground of observed variability remains unknown.(original abstract)
