Abstrakty
Województwo małopolskie pod względem inwestycji zagranicznych zajmuje czwarte miejsce w kraju. Znaczna część kapitału zagranicznego została zainwestowana w działalność produkcyjną (wyroby tytoniowe, artykuły spożywcze i wyroby chemiczne), a także inwestycje w handlu i usługach. Autorka zwraca uwagę na fakt, że nakłady te przeważnie stanowią początek dłuższego procesu inwestowania w technologię i rozbudowę zakładów produkcyjnych co wiąże się z tworzeniem nowych miejsc pracy.
Foreign direct investment plays an important role in the development of the Polish economy. It has accelerated the privatisation process and stimulated the modernisation of the economic structure, above all trade and industry. It has aided the implementation of new technologies and impacted on changes in management and in the organisation of production. The influx of foreign capital to Poland is strongly differentiated across regions. The Małopolska vivodship assumes fourth position nationally, and is the subject of analysis in this article. The author analyses the main foreign investors and the volume of investment in the Małopolska region, the structure of owenrship and the orign of capital, as weel as the branch and spatial structure. Also of importance in the Małopolska region are greenfield investments, which testify to the attractiveness of the region for external investors and which create new jobs. In conxclusion, the author looks at the prospects for increasing the involvement of foreign capital in the economy of the Małopolska region. (original abstract)
