The Role of the Internet as a Element of Promotional System in Banking

W referacie omówiono możliwości wykorzystania, zbudowanego z połączenia środków tradycyjnych i instrumentów dostarczanych przez Internet, efektywnego narzędzia promocji produktów bankowych, integrującego działalność on-line i off-line.
Despite the fact that Polish banking industry has already started utilization of the Internet as distribution channel, exploitation of this new medium for promotional purpose still remains a basic way of taking adventage of possibilities offered by this global network. But in spite of this fact, existing opportunities haven't been fully utilized by banks yet. So, the purpose of this paper is presentation of possibilities of better usage Internet tools in combination with traditional promotional means in order to create a highly effective, integrated promotional system, efficiently combining on-line and off-line activities of banks. The first part of the paper presents a model of typical promotional system utilized by Polish banks before Internet era as well as currently. Next, after discussing adventages and drawbacks of existing model, a promotional system fully exploiting all opportunities of on-line environment has been proposed. Finally conclusions are provided.
