The Changes of the Spatial Structure of Small Ports of the Middle Pomerian in the Aspect of Contemporary Transformation in Poland

Abstrakty
Przedmiotem artykułu była próba analizy procesów, które przez ostatnie sto lat wpływały i ukształtowały obecną strukturę przestrzenną małych portów oraz prspektywa zachowania w przyszłości ich zabytkowej budowy. Uwzględnione zostały kolejne porty: Kołobrzeg, Darłowo, Ustka, Łeba, Władysławowo, Jastronia, Hel i Puck. Za istotne czynniki historyczne, wpływające na strukturę małych portów, uznano klęskę Niemców w II wojnie światowej i politykę morską PRL, a współcześnie komunalizację portów i wkraczanie zabudowy miejskiej do portów, a także przemiany w rybołóstwie i rozwój turystyki.
The aim of the study is to present an attempt at the analysis of all the processes that have influenced the spatial structure of small ports whitin the compass of the last 100 years. The ports from Kołobrzeg to Puck are taken into account. The following are the most important factors that enabled the surviva of the old structure of small ports: Germany's defeat during World War II; steering the sea policy for the growth of big ports during the Polish People's Republic period. Nowadays there are the following factors inducing the changes of small ports: seizing the local municipaility of the small ports, encroachment of the city buildings structures ports, reconstruction of the sea fishery, rapaid extension of tourism during the period 1993-95. It seems to be advisable to work out a special policy so as to preserve the antique substance of the small ports. (original abstract)
