Abstrakty

Autor omówił istotne zmiany, będące efektem przemian gospodarczych, które wyraźnie wpłynęły na obecną społczno-ekonomiczną sytuację zarówno ludności rolniczej jak i ogółu ludności wiejskiej (m.in. problemy powstałe po likwidacji państwowych przedsiębiorstw rolnych, bezrobocie, a także rozwój agrobiznesu i działalności producencko-handlowej). W opinii autora, rozwój przedsiębiorczości na terenach wiejskich, "wymuszony" restrukturyzacją rolnictwa, powinien pogłębić specjalizację gospodarstw, umożliwić lepsze dostosowanie kierunków produkcji i usług do warunków wewnątrzgospodarczych oraz do uwarunkowań zewnętrznych, tj. przyrodniczych, ekonomicznych i społecznych otoczenia.

The initial part of the article characterises the socio-economic situation of the Polish agriculture and rural areas in the nineties. Attention is paid to increasing unemployment in the rural areas, reduced incomes from agricultural production, declining level of the rural population's education increased needs for social assistance. Many of those phenomena are connected with liquidation of the former State Farms. The further part presents possibilities to improve the situation, mentioning, among others, the programme of multifunctional development of the rural areas. A prerequistite for the implemtation of this programme is triggering economic activity and entrepreneurship among the inhabitants of the rural areas. This is manifested in the fact farmers and inhabitants of villages take up activities in the field of the trade, services, crafts, tourism, food procesing, and the like. Moreover, the article characterises objective and subjective conditions for the development of enterpreneurship. (original abstract)
