IATEFL - International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language oznacza Międzynarodowe Stowarzyszenie Nauczycieli Języka Angielskiego. Stowarzyszenie powstało w 1991 roku i od początku aktywnie realizuje swój cel: integrowanie środowiska nauczycieli języka angielskiego. Artykuł przedstawia relacje wykładowców WSZiM, którzy wzięli udział w IX konferencji organizowanej przez IATEFL.
The article summarises and reviews the IX IATEFL Conference that took place in Kraków in November. The conference offered a very interesting program with over a thousand participants and one hundred and twenty lecturers. Teachers of English from many primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities could share experiences, discuss problems, exchange ideas and get acquainted with new teaching methods and materials. Eight teachers representing the University of Management and Marketing in Warsaw took part in all workshops connected with teaching Business English. During the ninth IATEFL Conference they had an opportunity to focus on three important issues: the latest trends in the methodology of teaching Business English, the problem private economic universities face nowadays, and finally, the future development of the University of Management and Marketing and the Foreign Language Department. All the participants representing the UMM thought highly of the conference and expeck that the knowledge they acquire both at work and during such conferences and seminars will significantly contribute to the further development of the university.
