Abstrakty
Region Morza Bałtyckiego jest znaczącym w świecie odbiorcą i eksporterem bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych. Do państw tego regionu napływało łącznie w okresie lat 1991-1998 średnio rocznie prawie 8 procent światowych inwestycji. Jednakże dystrybucja inwestycji pomiędzy państwa bałtyckie była i mimo zdecydowanie dynamicznych pozytywnych zmian w regionie jest nadal drastycznie nierównomierna.
The Baltic Sea Region is a receiver and exporter of world significance of direct foreign investment. In the 1991-98 period an annual average of almost 8 procent of world investment flowed jointly into the countries of this region. Nevertheless, the distribution of this investment between the Baltic states has been, and continues to be, drastically uneven. There are clear and strong analogies in this respect between the geographical structures of Baltic trade, and Baltic throughput of direct foreign investment. The economic division of Baltic region countries into the developed Western Baltic and the transforming economies of the Eastern Baltic explains the limited absorptive possibilities and relatively small attractiveness for the latter's foreign investors.
