Abstrakty
Autor omówił rozwój polskiego systemu bankowego w warunkach transformacji gospodarki polskiej w latach 1989-1993. Poszczególne punkty referatu dotyczyły w pierwszej kolejności rozwoju banków komercyjnych, sektora banków spółdzielczych, kasy oszczędności, banków specjalnych i instytucji parabankowych, a dalej problemów kapitałowych istniejących i tworzonych banków oraz charakteru rynku usług bankowych. Końcowe rozważania autora poświęcił analizie zakresu autonomii, zadań oraz intrumentów polityki pieniężnej banku centralnego, a także roli nadzoru bankowego w Polsce.
The adjustment of the Polish banking system of the conditions of market economy required a thorough restructuring of its structure of organisation and changing the mode of its functioning. This process was started with isolating 9 state-owned commercial banks from the Polish National Bank in 1988. However, this process was not accelerated earlier than the following year, when private banks began to be established on the basis of the new banking law. At the same time, the principles of the functioning of banks were adjusted to the requirements of market economy; the banks became independent enterprises which performed the function of a financial agent. The qualitative development of the banking system and basing the activity of the banks on market principles required the introduction of a banking supervision. The norms applied by the Polish banking supervsion are gradually adopted to the standards binding in the European Union. (original abstract)
