Evidence and Its Kinds in the Conceptions of Kazimierz Twardowski and Leopold Blaustein

Abstrakty
Omówiono pochodzenie pojęcia naoczności (wyobrażenia) oraz przedstawiono tę teorię w koncepcji Kazimierz Twardowskiego (1866-1938) oraz Leopolda Blausteina (1905-1942).
The paper consists of four parts. Part I is concerned with the most important terminological definitions and describes the circumstances of the widespreas use of the terms direct cognition, indirect cognition, evidential cognition, non-evidential cognition. Part II presents Kazimierz Twardowski's conception of evidence, pointing out the grounds for distinguishing between evidential (image) knowledge and non-evidential (conceptual) knowledge and discussing the basic types of evidence (distinguished according to the subjective and objective criterion). Part III is devoted to the prresentation of Leopold Blaustein's conception of evidence, indicating its conditions (necessary and sufficient), major konds (distinguished through different criteria) and properties (including distinctive features). Part IV is a brief comparison and summing up of the two conceptions of evidence. (original abstract)
