Abstrakty
W artykule przedstawiono sprawozdanie z niektórych rezultatów osiągnięć D. Davidsona. Celem wysiłków Davidsona jest stworzenie semantyki języka naturalnego - teorii, która osobie nie znającej pewnego języka umożliwiłaby porozumiewanie się w tym języku. Zadanie to polega na opracowaniu poprawnej empirycznie teorii prawdy dla wypowiedzi pewnej osoby lub grupy osób.
The paper presents the view of D.Davidson on the program of the structure of the semantics of natural language. Paragraph 1 outlines a dynamic model of the communication act that assumes that the persons communicating with each other use two kinds of theories of meanings. The necessary presence of the conventional element in the language and the existence of metaphorical meanings are also negated. Paragraph 2 postulates that the theory of truth modelled on Tarski's definition of truth can serve as a semantic theory. Paragraph 3 sugests that the theory of truth be treated as an empirical theory referring to the meanings of the utterances of a person and it outlines a procedure for verifying such a theory.
