Polish Rural Communities' and the Prospect of Joining the European Union

Abstrakty
Jednym z najważniejszych i najtrudniejszych zadań, jakie stoi przed naszym krajem, jest przygotowanie do członkostwa w Unii polskiego rolnictwa. O przystąpieniu Polski do Unii Europejskiej zadecyduje powszechne referendum przeprowadzone wśród społeczeństwa.
One of the most important and dificult tasks facing Poland is the preparation of Polish agriculture for Union membership. Farmers and country people who constitute over one third of the Polish population are a social group that is highly suspicious of the integration process. The author of the article argues that their voice may be hugely significant in the accession referendum and that is why persuading the farmers that integration aspirations are legitimate should become a challenge to the government and the political elites.
