Abstrakty
W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe zagadnienia związane z kontraktami futures, w szczególności z określonymi relacjami cenowymi. W pierwszej części artykułu omówiono kontrakty futures i ich charakterystykę w kontekście kontraktów forwards. Następnie zaprezentowano koncepcję "cost-of-carry" w warunkach perfekcyjnej i nieperfekcyjnej ekonomii.
The paper deals with the problems of determining the value of futures, especially the interest rate futures and the stock index futures. At the beginning the nature of the futures conctracts is discussed and their characterization in the context of the forwards is done.Then the conception of the "cost-of-carry" model under the conditions of both the perfect and imperfect market is presented. Attention is drawn to price relations between the futures and the forwards, and the conceptions explaining the relations between the prices of futures and the expected cash prices at the time of settling these transactions. Next, the possibility of arbitration as regards the interest rate and the resultant relations between the interest rates and net income ratios of the transactions are presented. In addittion, a form of the "cost-of-carry" model used for determining the value of stock index futures is presented. (original abstract)
