Abstrakty

Artykuł dotyczy motywów podejmowania zagranicznych inwestycji bezpośrednich (ZIB) przez przedsiębiorstwo, wynikających z wybranej strategii. Zanalizowano determinanty mające wpływ na wybór i realizację strategii: wielkość rynku i perspektywy jego rozwoju, polityczną i ekonomiczna stabilizację, ceny czynników wytwórczych oraz klimat inwestycyjny. Na planowanie ZIB dodatkowy wpływ ma: rodzaj branży, położenie geograficzne kraju goszczącego i doświadczenia przedsiębiorstwa nabyte w trakcie dokonywania zagranicznych inwestycji.

The article presents a set of determinants for firms choosing a investment strategy abroad. The choice of a vertical or horizontal strategy depends on the nature of the investment to be undertaken (whether it is demand- or cost-oriented) and on the economic and political climate in the host country with regard to foreign investors.
