Abstrakty

W artykule przedstawiono zmiany w strukturze społecznej współczesnej Polski w ostatnim dziesięcioleciu. Zdaniem autora zmiany te są pochodną procesu transformacji systemowej, modernizacji imitacyjnej, rozwoju zależnego i globalizacji. Autor stara się również wyjaśnić zmiany jakie zachodzą w strukturze podmiotów kontroli społecznej oraz zaprezentować ogólnoświatowe tendencje rynku pracy i wpływ globalizacji na zróżnicowanie społeczeństwa polskiego.

Globalisation - understood "as the process of compression of the world and the intensification of consciousness that the world is a whole" - is one of the main factors co-determining contemporary changes in the Polish social structure. Polish transformation is a mixture of imitative modernisation and partial semi-peripheral dependency. Changes in technology and in the labour market along with growing productivity entail modernisation of the social structure and increasing meritocracy but also new types of social differentiation, growing structural unemployment, social exclusion and formation of the new underclass.
