Abstrakty
Autorka stara się udowodnić, iż globalizacja oznacza przełom w sposobach społecznej perswazji. Dlatego też próbuje uświadomić społeczeństwu możliwe niebezpieczeństwa, które pomogą uchronić je od ujemnych skutków stosowanych technik manipulacji.
Ceasing of isolation of the eastern block countries and the strong process of globalisation, particularly as far as transfer of information, development of services and international expansion of companies are concerned, bring shock caused by integration in some domains of social life. Among other things, globalisation process is connected with the breakthrough in the ways of social persuasion. It consists most of all in replacinG propaganda with advertising and bringing techniques of persuasion which had been well tested in other parts of the world which we seldom encountered before. Often we are not prepared for them, which causes great susceptibility to attempts at manipulating us. The way to defend oneself against it might be by being aware of the essence of manipulation. Analysis of the concept of manipulation in social sciences and of everyday meaning shows, however, the limits in understanding the mechanisms of manipulation and insufficient awareness of the impending danger. In the article it is also postulated that activities the aim of which should be making people better aware of the threats connected with globalisation in the fiEld of exerting influence through manipulation techniques should organised.
