W obliczu głównego kryzysu finansowego wpływającego na ubezpieczenia socjalne, problem finansowania systemu emerytalnego staje się coraz ważniejszy. W opracowaniu autor prezentuje źródła i metody finansowania emerytur i rent. Próbuje przedstawić jakie konsekwencje dla rynku może mieć zastosowanie poszczególnych metod.

In the face of the major financial crisis affecting social insurance, the problem of financing pension systems is attracting an increasing amount of attention. In this article, the author presents the sources and methods of financing retirement pensions and disability allowances. The principal strategies for financing pension systems are the pay-as-go method and the capital reserve method. In the face of the different proposals for reforming the Polish pension system, the advocates of each method have expounded its advantages in debates on the subject. The author tries to describe in systematic fashion the different consequences that particular methods for financing pensions may have on the economy if they are introduced. (original abstract)
