Alianse strategiczne stają się coraz bardziej popularne, szczególnie w sferze aktywności technologicznej. Gwałtowny wzrost porozumień o współpracy, który miał miejsce w latach osiemdziesiątych, jest uważany za jedną z cech świadczących o globalizacji gospodarki. Alianse strategiczne umożliwiają przedsiębiorstwom dostęp do zasobów technologicznych w stopniu zdecydowanie większym niż osiągnięty w drodze kupna lub wytworzenia. (abstrakt oryginalny)
Strategic alliances are becoming more popular, particularly to undertake technological development activities. Their rapid growth since the 1980s is regarded as further evidence of globalisation. Strategic alliances provide access to technological resources that are greater than any single firm could buy or create. (original abstract)
