Opracowanie jest próbą oceny infrastruktury statystycznej w Polsce w zakresie bezrobocia, z uwzględnieniem standardów UE i możliwości analizy w ujęciu regionalnym. Autorka prezentuje podstawowe wymagania przedstawione przez Eurostat, odnoszące się do statystyki bezrobocia oraz problem harmonizacji badań w tym zakresie.

The paper tries to evaluate statistical infrastructure in Poland as regards unemployment, taking into account adjustment to the requirements of the European Union and the possibilities of regional analysis. The author points out basic requirements of the Eurostat as regards the statistics of unemployment in the regional approach as well as the problems of harmonisation of research. The paper presents the existing trends of research connected with the application of the small area statistics to evaluate unemployment on the regional and local labour markets in Poland.
