Abstrakty
Poland, when signing European Association Agreement with European Communities, took and obligation to initiate acts to adjust Polish law to the Union standards. One of the fields regulated by the Community law system is the capital market. The main areas of the European regulation of the capital market include: licensing and supervision of the market subjects, protection of customers' interests, specification of capital requirements for banks and investment companies, operation of investment funds and prevention of crimes connected with the turnover on the market. at present it is possible to state that Polish legal regulations concerning that field substantially implement the aims set out by directives of the Council of the European Union. The process was especially highlighted by passing in 1997 of new statutes concerning banking sector, public turnover of securities and trusteeship funds. It must be stressed that the Polish capital market has been built from the very beginning with use of European experience. Thus harmonising of the legal regulations has not been a major problem.
